As usual there was no blue sky and no dramatic puffy white clouds. Five skipjacks participated in the Saturday race on the Choptank River. Whip Abbe, a member of The Dorchester County Skipjack Committee generously offered to let me ride in his Boston Whaler to photograph the race. Actually the dull outdoor lighting eliminates shadows on the skipjacks and creates a surrealistic effect. It was a pleasant sight watching these historic pieces of art whisper across the water.
